Had an excellent weekend with the family at a posh hotel near Weymouth and managed to grab a couple of hours at Portland. Kicking myself now that I didn't go to Ringstead, but it would have cut into the sailing time drastically as Portland was only a 5 min drive from the hotel (highly recommended if you have kids and a bottomless wallet).

Had a great time drag racing the speed sailers and practicing duck gybes - not sure I could sail there all the time though. I think I like water with a few more hills. Interesting that my Synchro with a freestyle fin and wave sail was holding its own against many of the slalom/cambered kit. The speed sailers were quick, but by far the fastest was some guy on a JP (not sure what) and a Tush T'Bird - he was nuts, but very quick and good round the corners. Sun was out eh whole time and it was very powered up 5m weather. If it had been bumpy, I would have been on 4.5 and wave board.

Nice to have experience a new spot on a good day. About 50 boards out I reckon and they were still turning up as I was leaving.
